Mr. Boogie EP out NOW on Badman Digital!
April 5th, 2011 by DZWhen I first heard this manz beats, I was immediately reminded of the early days of Dubstep – snares that reached out and smashed me in the face, dubby licks throughout and the subb ever present and well weighty every time. Since then, the man has continuously dropped his signature sound all over the map with releases in both Vinyl & Digital formats on some prime labels like Bassclash, Scrub-A-Dub, Police In Helicopter, Monsta Dubs, Rottun, Prime Audio, Sequence, Dubline, and those are just a few! We have been lucky to grab some very choice cuts for our Badman Digital label in the form of a 3 track EP that includes “Beefcake”, “Ruined My Record” & “Spalpeen”. I’ve been dropping these badboy chunes for some time, and a slew of his other dubs as well. I find Mr. Boogie cuts to be a perfect compliment to my DJ style, as I like to take the crowd through the full spectrum of the sounds in each set that I play. But don’t take just my word for it, here’s what a few others had to say about the tracks on his Badman EP!
RUSKO:
“I’m trying to remember a set i have played where i DIDNT play Beefcake! It has the perfect bounce & groove, I love mixing it in & out of it cos the bass just CUTS thru!! BIG UP Boogie I look forward to more!”
ITCHY ROBOT:
“Been dropping ‘Ruined My Record’ for time, big dubplate from my man Mr Boogie. From the vocal drop (and its power) ’till the end, a solid tune and well worth the $’s! ‘Spalpeen’ takes you on a diff journey but it all leads to the same place, dirtville!
This ones for the nodders with long dirty drawn out bass stabs dropping into a pacey round of munching basses!”
CONSCIOUS PILOT:
“These 3 songs from Mr.Boogie will get the crowd moving to an addictively sporadic vibe that is ultimately Dj friendly!”
TWISTED:
“Spalpeen straight punches to your face on that one! Dirty! Raw! And a nice surprise on the 2nd Drop! Deffo a club banger thats NOT to be missed!”
With DJ’s like Rusko, Excision, Itchy Robot, Von D., Jazzsteppa, Downlink & myself supporting his sounds often, and a string of releases coming up on Heavy Artillery, Dubsaw, Tsunami Audio, Scrub-A-Dub & Rottun, it’s shaping up to be a very good year for the man they call Mr. Boogie!!

February 12th, 2011 by RedEyzTony Rocky Horror – Anomaly LP + Promo mix + Freeeeeeebie!
February 3rd, 2011 by RedEyzBadman Press is ECSTATIC to announce the release of Tony Rocky Horror’s LP “Anomaly”. This heavy weight funk phenomenon hits the streets loud and clear on 3/1/2011, exclusively on Beatport <– click to buy!
Dubstep, drumstep, hip hop, house music, 70s, 80s and 90s, g-funk. BASS MUSIC. Tony Rocky Horror takes what he wants from these genres and formulates his own genius, inspired, intelligent/raw-tarded style. We are in awe. Here at Camp Badman, we know that even if you catch some z’s while this piece of history flies over your head, you will be all up on it in like 5 years anyway, so do your thizzle sleeping beauty!
To set it off proper dandy like, the Seattle based Badman gives you a generous lesson in West Coast 90′s classic G-Funk, bridging it to the now, clearly exposing the roots of our current Wessyde beat music…from a young G’s perspective. Taal Mala’s 2010 recap.
January 17th, 2011 by RedEyz
[words: sub|division - original article here]
We understand that this isn’t a practical mix to get down to in one gulp – we suggest inhaling in separate sessions. Taal Mala generates a few movements & swells of vibe throughout the mix, so leaving & returning is a feasible thing to negotiate. But we’re pretty sure that sometime in July, when you revisit this thing, it’ll be a solid reminder of what a great year 2011 was for dancefloors.
check the original article for some truly amazing and inspirational words from Taal, and don’t forget to grab the mix from there, or by clicking right here.
