Itchy Robot (Afterdark) – MISS YOU

Badman Press unleashes the third vinyl and eleventh release that barely manages to corset its two colossal tracks. ‘Miss you’ by Itchy Robot producer of Chemical Records third best selling track of all time, masterfully layers a plaintiff introductory guitar riff and haunting female vocal sample, over hard hitting sub and midrange bass.

The flip side “Fatal Maschine” sees remixing duties taken up by Record label Front man, DZ. Jarring throwback synths followed by an old school hip hop “call and response’’ vocal  seamlessly sets the platform for DZ delivering what he does best; dance floor annihilation.

With a solid release that provides all of the bass and none of the byproduct, Badman Press has forged a hammer meant for smashing up the dance!

12″ promo’s available today – grab it here!

Digital versions of these tunes are also available through Juno on July 26th, 2010.

Full release expected July 26th, 2010.

Get to know: Kozee

May 19th, 2010 by RedEyz

In this episode of Meet the Artist, the subLOGIC crew meets one-on-one with none other than Kozee at TRUST, 8 May, 2010, at The Triple Crown in downtown San Francisco! We had the rare and privileged opportunity to visit with Kozee and her mother on Mother’s Day weekend for some casual conversation over dinner talking about Kozee’s roots in EDM, her transition to dubstep over time as well as her development as a producer. The big news of the evening is that her new EP will be dropping in late June on Hot N Heavy Recordings, a San Francisco label! Definitely keep one eye on subLOGIC.fm for an announcement of the official release date and maybe a preview or two!

more of that from subLOGIC and check out an SF Weekly “Dubstep Ambassadors” blurb, here.

Dave Gee : The Arrival (Dubstep Mix)

February 26th, 2010 by DZ

Ez fam, first & foremost I want to give a massive shout out to the Trouble & Bass crew in NYC for having me & Kanji Kinetic mash up the place (Feb. 20 @ Santos Party House) – pure rawkus!!! If you don’t follow these cats already, do itttt: @TroubleandBass @DroptheLime @TheCaptain666 @AC_Slater @Stareyezzz @Udachi @JessJubilee

DAVE GEE – METHODSNYC – BROOKLYN, NY

(pictured with Borgore, left)

I grew up on hip hop as a kid, which, in essence means I grew up on NYC. From the boogie-down to queensbridge to strong island, it was what it was, so the first time I got off the plane at JFK and felt that pulse, that heartbeat that is the city that never sleeps, I knew IT WAS ON! In step the one like DAVE GEE, owner and creative engineer of the MethodsNYC brand based out of Brooklyn, NY., who booked me to play their monthly night (at the time) “Pressure”. The man’s been there for time, building a solid line and reputation based off of that mad east coast hustle and an acute sense of aesthetics. Top guy, top businessman, great visionary & after we got drunk and high as fuck & started dropping beats, I realized he was a sick DJ as well. I remember my b-boy drunk alter ego was telling me I hated him, but this man just wrecks shop and it flows into his mixes for sure. His new mix “The Arrival” is really dope, gives a good spectrum of the dancefloor sounds of now & you know you need it in your rotation!

BOOSH!
