First off, bless up to everyone who took the time to enter the comp & submitted a remix – we had a really hard time picking a bonafide winner let alone winnerS. This is definitely something that will be happening more often that’s for sure! We’ve been going through the entries not just listening to how the tracks are built/mixed, but how they will sound with a good mastering as well. In saying that, we have decided to put out an EP’s worth that will be coupled ‘longside an EP of various other Badman remixes, an(other!) LP of sorts. We were really happy with the variety in the rmxs, and felt these 6 deserved their own EP, in no particular order:

EZ, glad you’re checkin’ this out! When we started this site the original plan was to do one of these a month, but it just hasn’t shaped up to be thus far. I hope to do this at least bi-monthly from now on, and not just some unreleased shit either, but proper competitions where there are more than one winner and better prizes than just a digital release. So let’s start over again:

The track we offer for remix treatment this time is “DZ – Up & Down”. I have exported 32 stems into 3 different packs and a 4th pack of just the raw samples used. The winner will have their remix released on the forthcoming “Press Remix V1 EP” on Badman Digital Media. The contest will run from now until Tuesday, January 05, 2010 @ 4pm EST, and all entries should be sent to info@badmanpress.com. The winner (and possible runner-ups if we get our merch on track) will be named 2 weeks after the contest closes, on January 18th, 2010.

As well, on Friday, Nov. 27th, we will be giving out our first in a series of free releases by the man known as Dubsworth, accompanied by an interview and artwork. And these aren’t going to be 320’s, these will be proper mastered WAV’s and we aim to continue the trend for time to come. Keep Up!!!
