Thrills – A Badman in a Bad World

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

i’m about a week or so late on this, but i’ve been mad busy with life so please excuse me. as some of you already know Thrills‘ latest EP on Badman Digi was released on the 30th of last month. this thing is packed full of bangers.

A Badman in a Bad World goes a little harder than most of the stuff we here at the Badman Camp put out, but when the production value and imagination on the tunes is this good we couldn’t say no. Thrills has been sitting on this one for a while and we’re ecstatic he kept it locked away in the vault for us! head on over to Beatport and grab your copy today!

Supreme’s Grimey EP is out NOW!

Saturday, September 17th, 2011

Badman Digital’s 23rd push into the ever growing and evolving Dubstep movement comes from Bay Area Badman Supreme. this thing is riddled with insane bass lines, grimey vocals, and a roster of top-tier talent outside of the weaponry he himself brings to the table.

including other heavy weights from the world of Dubstep such as Styx Recordings poster boy P0gman, the dynamic UK duo Stinkahbell, and another UK up and comer, Disonata, this release is as diverse as the characters featured on it! head on over to Beatport and grab your copy of Supreme’s monster debut by clicking here. i assure you that you will not be disappointed.

i would also highly suggest keeping on eye on Supreme’s Soundcloud page as homeboy’s star is absolutely on the rise. always remixing big tunes from some of the genre’s hottest producers and pushing out a serious arsenal of his own original works, it’s only a matter of time before Supreme becomes a household name in the USofA and abroad. believe me when i tell you that we’re elated to have brought him to you first! gwaaan, Supreme. get that.

Drokkr is JLD’s 133rd mix!

Saturday, September 17th, 2011

so our Irish homeboy Drokkr is J’aime le Dubstep‘s 133rd instalment. packed full of heavy bass rollers, make sure you turn your sub up for this one.

stop by Drokkr‘s Soundcloud page to check out some of the stuff he’s been working on and you might catch an earful of what he’s planning on releasing right here with us at the Badman camp. Drokkr is currently slated for a double EP release with us in the late fall/early winter and you can expect to hear deep, dark dubstep and some other slower paced experimental hip-hop/glitchy bass riddims between the two EP’s.

Having grown up listening to Detroit Techno and progressively moving through electronic music, Irish bass music producer DROKKR took up production around 4 years ago. In his music you can hear him taking influences from a 17 year love affair with electronic music. Having played around with DJing before taking up production which steadily moved towards a live show. The live show that he currently brings to the table is one full of driving beats, quirky percussion and solid heavy duty bass.

Momentum is steadily building behind DROKKR and his music. Seeing plenty of radio support from DJs such as Starkey on BBC 1xtra and SubFM and from No Yeah No & Warlock, Threnody Mad EP and Valta on SubFm. There is now also series of mixes and live recordings for various blogs and radio shows are in the currently in the pipeline to coincide with the launch of his own website, blog and the forthcoming releases.

With the wheels fully in motion now,2011 is shaping up nicely With a string of releases lined up for the coming months. As the rest of the year pans out, things are looking to get even busier for Drokkr and his music. The prolific producer seems to be able to move between genres little effort while constantly pushing his boundries and all the while evolving his own unique sound.

“DROKKR is unique in that his music straddles many different genres, but always feels fresh and exciting, and interestingly like the same artist. Exactly what I want to hear in music today.” – Starkey

“I knew from the early beats I was receiving from DROKKR that one day he would be on Badman Press, and atm he is really growing into his own sound and obviously enjoying himself – when I listen to “Big Drink” I have no choice but to smile and nod my head in respect to the man from Ireland doing it big with a style that goes down from California to Bristol and beyond!” – DZ

“Yea, been dropping DROKKR’s stuff for a while now, lots of influences ranging from techno, garage, bassline to rave……..wicked!” – No Yeah No

Drokkr interview and mix.

Monday, August 1st, 2011

so our homeboy Drokkr (2 releases slated for this fall on Badman Digital) was asked by Electrikal Sound System of Scotland to throw a mix together, and snagged a little interview in the process. don’t sleep on learning a little bit more about our Irish friend, and peep this bangin mix which is ready to assault your senses.

After becoming acquainted with him during the Pi Eyed free party at La Cheetah in June, we’ve been keeping tabs on our Irish kindred spirits Herv and Drokkr – boys who know how to smack a crowd about with a tightly balled mix. A month later we’ve received a little present, courtesy of one of our pen-pals across the isles. Drokkr’s salutations come in the form of a half hour dubstep session recorded exclusively for us (though of course we’ll share it with you being upstanding folks and all that).

so click here to get on to the mix and interview! big it up, Drokkr. can’t wait til we get your music out the gate.
